About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Nurse to join our dynamic Emergency Department Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional leadership and developing the expertise of our nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical nursing and managerial expertise in all aspects of emergency care, ensuring the highest possible standard for nursing care and technical equipment care.
  • Develop and maintain a department philosophy of care based on the Trust's core objectives.
  • Lead staff and create positive working relationships within the team, while monitoring and appraising performance.

Person Specification
  • Degree/Diploma in Nursing
  • Current NMC registration
  • Emergency and unscheduled care course or equivalent
  • Mentorship course or equivalent
  • Significant experience at Band 6 Level
  • Significant emergency care nursing experience
  • Knowledge of current emergency care issues
  • Experience of audit/benchmarking/standard setting
Desirable Qualifications
  • Leadership course
  • Masters-level study
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS)
  • Advanced Trauma Nurse Course (ATNC)/EPALS
  • Evidence of guideline/policy development
  • Experience of teaching patients/parents and colleagues
  • Able to lead, train, and motivate a team of staff
