About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Linguistic Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Universally Speaking Limited. As an English Game Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of games and applications by identifying and reporting linguistic bugs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough testing of in-game text to ensure linguistic accuracy and correctness, adhering to cultural rules and industry standards.
  • Develop and execute test cases throughout the project life cycle, documenting testing practices, LQA process, and reporting methods.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to ensure effective testing and support of all features.
  • Participate in test requirement gathering with developers to ensure Localisation QA effectively tests and supports all features.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the testing process.
Requirements
  • Expert-level proficiency in Swedish language.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Passion for video games and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines.
  • Proactive, tenacious, and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing, database handling, and record keeping.
  • Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous experience in LQA, translation, or proofreading.
  • Working knowledge of CAT tools (MemoQ).
  • Knowledge of the video game industry and trends.
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in linguistics.
