About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Regulatory Project Manager to join our Strategy & Regulation function at Yorkshire Water.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects that will shape the future of our business and contribute to the delivery of our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project manage activities required to enable legislation and regulation to be implemented within Yorkshire Water, ensuring the company is protected from any legislative risk.
  2. Ensure delivery of activities that provide the wholesale business with the appropriate structure, governance, policies, processes, and operating systems to enable an effective wholesale Business Unit to operate in the market.
  3. Manage a number of specific project outputs and provide project management support and advice to Business Change Managers or Business Leads to ensure any business activity is fully planned, enacted, and embedded.
  4. Plan and manage the delivery of regulatory and legislative projects, including Price Review and Water Act.
  5. Lead, scope, and manage multiple projects ensuring projects are delivered to time, cost, and quality.
  6. Produce high-quality reports indicating the key elements of a project in relation to ROI, risk, the irrefutable business case, and implementation plan.
  7. Drive new project opportunities derived from knowledge or learning gained through working with partners, contractors, and suppliers.
  8. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scope.
  9. Effectively manage project risk through mitigation planning.
  10. Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  11. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  12. Represent Yorkshire Water for the external programme interface with Ofwat/Defra/EA/Market Operator and other companies as required.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience of managing programmes and projects with a proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets.
  2. Experience of business planning, resource, and budget management.
  3. Ability to develop and maintain effective internal relationships to communicate and engage people at all levels to ensure successful implementation.
  4. Commercial awareness and experience of conflict resolution.
  5. Understanding of the regulatory environment, the Water Act, and the Competition Act.
  6. Experience of compiling, assessing, interpreting, and communicating data and information, including the ability to clearly present key items and risks to senior managers and Board.
