Position Overview
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist to enhance our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional patient care within our Sexual Health and HIV Service.
We are in search of a passionate and compassionate Band 6 Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist who possesses a strong commitment to the specialty. Ideal candidates will have a background in Sexual Health or relevant clinical experience in this area. Our service caters to a diverse patient population, and we value professionals who are efficient, driven, and dedicated to providing outstanding care.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Act as a senior clinical staff member and team leader, demonstrating extensive clinical expertise and delivering high-quality care.
- Serve as a role model for exemplary clinical practice and lead specific initiatives as assigned by the Clinic Manager.
- Exemplify the Trust's values consistently and take on the role of Deputy in the absence of the manager.
- Oversee clinical, managerial, and educational needs within the department, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
Clinical Duties
- Lead the assessment, planning, and implementation of high-quality patient care in alignment with Trust objectives.
- Manage complex clinical cases and ensure safe medication practices in accordance with established policies.
- Promote a safe therapeutic environment for patients and staff, adhering to national and local guidelines.
- Provide clinical advice and guidance to team members and patients as necessary.
- Participate in the Trust's clinical governance framework to uphold high standards of care.
Leadership and Management
- Oversee daily staffing arrangements to ensure safe practice levels.
- Act as a shift coordinator and support the induction of new staff.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage complaints and incidents, contributing to their resolution and investigation.
Education and Professional Development
- Engage in the education of learners and support preceptorship for new staff.
- Participate in local training sessions and promote evidence-based practice.
- Maintain professional registration and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
