About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Web Development team at Howden Group Holdings. As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our front-end applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute automated tests using Microsoft Azure, Blazor, C#, and Playwright to ensure high-quality and user-friendly solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with agile teams to deliver our roadmap and develop our automated test capability.
  • Influence and encourage a quality-is-everyone's-responsibility mindset and shift-left approach.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues to help them progress towards senior roles.
  • Work with other seniors to take lead roles on architectural and technical designs and present these as part of team refinement.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of the test pyramid and various testing techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience working with C#, Blazor, or other front-end technologies and how best to test them.
  • Comfortable working closely with software engineers.
  • Understanding and promotion of the need for automation.
  • Keen eye for detail and focus on putting users first.
  • Defensive mindset when consuming APIs and sanitizing user inputs.
  • Strong understanding and experience in testing accessibility needs and relevant standards.
  • Familiarity with Test-driven Development and a strong commitment to high-quality, maintainable, and easy-to-understand code.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (preferably Azure).
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrable risk-based approach to testing.
  • Experimental and scientific mindset leading to data-led decision making.
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies.
  • Commitment to continuous delivery practices and iterative development based on feedback.
