Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Academic Tutor to join our team at Utah State University. As an Academic Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic journey, providing individualized attention and guidance to help them succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring to students in mathematics and life and physical science courses.
  • Assist students in developing problem-solving skills, concept understanding, and study techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with students, instructors, and other support staff to ensure student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and hours worked.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance tutoring skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Current enrollment as a USU Eastern student with 6 or more credits or a community member with relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing student needs and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of one or more relevant courses with a B or better.
  • Experience working with students in a tutoring or academic support setting.
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instructional methods in mathematics and life and physical science courses.
