About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our team at the Workington Mill. As a key member of our Engineering Management Team, you will be responsible for leading and developing the mechanical engineering function to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our mill.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers to ensure the delivery of maintenance and engineering projects
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient use of assets
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
Requirements
  • Education to HND (or equivalent) in Engineering, or significant experience in a management position
  • Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship
  • Excellent knowledge and competence in maintenance engineering
  • Understanding of failure analysis and maintenance strategy
  • Good knowledge of plant processes and equipment
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of 'Windows Office' suite
