Behaviour Support Specialist Role

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Specialist to join our team at Qualiteach Ltd. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and challenging environment with young people who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping these students overcome barriers to learning and promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored support plans and help students develop coping strategies, resilience, and social skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies to de-escalate challenging situations
  • Working closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored support plans
  • Helping students develop coping strategies, resilience, and social skills
  • Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting the re-engagement of students with their education
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (experience in PRUs, SEMH schools, or similar settings is highly desirable)
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with a genuine desire to support vulnerable young people
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
