An opportunity has emerged for a qualified specialist practitioner within the District Nursing service in the Clinical Services Directorate.

This is a permanent Band 6 position as per the Agenda for Change framework. The successful candidate will be expected to operate across the Clinical Services Directorate and may be required to manage various caseloads within the region. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and variable shifts, is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess a District Nursing qualification (degree or diploma) or be in the process of obtaining one, along with relevant experience in community nursing.

It is anticipated that if the Advanced Clinical Examination (ACE) or Advanced Nurse Prescribing qualification is not already held, it will be completed within the first year of employment.

Experience in team leadership and caseload management is desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse professional groups are essential. The successful applicant should demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement initiatives and change management, as well as an understanding of national policies and a proactive approach to implementing these policies locally.

Willingness and ability to travel throughout the service delivery area is a requirement for this role.

The responsibilities of this position necessitate that the successful candidate be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
