Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant to support our finance department. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end processes, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Oversee debtor reporting, ensuring targets are met, while providing support to the sales ledger team.
  • Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Produce monthly variance analysis and update commissioned hours reports.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and reporting.
  • Process and upload payroll and other month-end journals.
Requirements:
  • GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and written/spoken English; or similar standard.
  • AAT qualified or studying towards a relevant qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) Desirable.
  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
