About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to join our data team at Jet2. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the wider delivery team to assess the appropriate level of testing for each piece of work, followed by the planning, execution, and documentation of testing carried out.
  • Guide the test effort within your team to ensure that work is completed to time and quality goals.
  • Collaborate with our Test Leads and Test Manager to continually improve our data test practices and processes.
  • Develop and implement Agile Data Testing methodologies and Automated Data Testing processes.
  • Mentor more junior colleagues, helping them develop their technical and non-technical skills and supporting their progression.
Requirements
  • Prior mentoring experience or a willingness to develop skills in this area to support the growth of our data testing practice.
  • Expertise across all parts of the testing process, including test planning, estimation, execution, defect management, reporting, and escalation, ideally in a data-related team.
  • Test certification such as ISTQB is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Agile delivery environment with a focus on rapid delivery of business value through iterative development and testing approaches.
  • Proficiency in SQL and the ability to write complex queries and work with large, complex datasets within a data-rich environment.
  • Experience of data testing on one or more of the following technology platforms: Microsoft SQL Server, Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, dBt Data Transformation Framework, and Tableau Data Visualisation Platform.
