Senior Cardiac Physiologist

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced cardiac physiologist specializing in cardiac rhythm management. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading healthcare organization.

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is a prominent University Hospital, delivering acute medical services to a diverse population.

The Cardio-Respiratory Unit is a dynamic and expanding diagnostic facility. We provide a comprehensive array of assessments, including resting ECGs, 24-hour ECG and blood pressure monitoring, Event Recording, Transthoracic and Transoesophageal Echocardiography, as well as Pacemaker/ICD/CRTD implants and follow-up care, both in-person and remotely. Additionally, we conduct a full spectrum of Respiratory Function tests and operate a cardiac catheterization lab for diagnostic angiography and device implants.

We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual to join our dedicated team of professionals committed to maintaining the highest quality standards for a fixed-term engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Delivering a high-quality, effective Cardio-Respiratory investigation service.
• Providing supervision, guidance, and support to junior staff members.
• Managing and organizing a designated area of specialist responsibility as assigned by the Lead Cardiac Physiologist.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent experience/knowledge.
• Professional qualifications from BHRS or equivalent, or a commitment to achieve this upon appointment.

Desirable:

• Capability to perform and report on adult transthoracic echocardiography.

Experience Requirements

Essential:

• Extensive experience at a senior level, capable of independently performing, interpreting, and reporting on investigations within the Cardio-Respiratory Unit.
• Ability to assist with brady/tachy implants and manage physiologist-led follow-up clinics independently.
