Position Title: Senior Specialist, Configuration Management
Location: Bristol/Barrow
About the Role
The Senior Specialist in Configuration Management plays a crucial role within the software team, working closely with Technical Managers to ensure the technical integrity of projects. This position emphasizes engineering expertise and leadership, focusing on the coordination, planning, and successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee configuration management processes and legacy tools.
- Maintain and enhance documentation related to Configuration Management.
- Guide the organization on Change and Configuration Management, ensuring effective implementation of changes.
- Provide strategic direction on Engineering toolsets, addressing obsolescence and future enhancements.
- Ensure adherence to the project delivery lifecycle, identifying and resolving issues as they arise.
- Assist in developing a feasible project schedule in collaboration with all stakeholders.
- Support the collection and reporting of performance metrics.
- Conduct configuration audits as necessary.
- Contribute to process improvements using the company's methodologies, promoting efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in tools such as Jira, GIT, Jenkins, or similar CI platforms.
- Experience with Engineering lifecycles.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering practices, including Verification and Validation methods.
- Technical understanding of the products being developed.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline, preferably with a focus on Software.
