Lead a Successful History Department

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of History to join our team at a highly-regarded secondary school in Basingstoke. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for guiding the curriculum, mentoring colleagues, and fostering a stimulating and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the History department, developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum that meets the needs of students across different age and attainment levels.
  • Engage and inspire students, promoting a passion for History and encouraging academic excellence.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and development of the subject, working collaboratively with colleagues to drive department growth and improvement.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Proven experience teaching History at secondary level.
  • Strong leadership qualities and a vision for department growth.
  • Commitment to academic excellence and student achievement.
