Job Overview

The Mechanical & Electrical water engineering division at AECOM is dedicated to assisting clients in managing their assets effectively. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from the design of entirely new treatment facilities to evaluating the condition of existing equipment and machinery. Our engineers play a crucial role in aiding clients in the development of new assets or enhancements to current systems, focusing on improved performance and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Water Systems Graduate Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating cable calculations, schedules, and circuit designs.
  • Developing lighting design plans.
  • Producing detailed specifications for Motor Control Centers (MCC) and control panels.
  • Drafting comprehensive electrical specification documents.
  • Utilizing design software such as Amtech, Dialux, and Lighting Reality.
  • Collaborating with both internal and external design teams, clients, and contractors as necessary.
  • Providing timely updates and reports to clients and internal team leaders.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A BEng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (2:1 or above, or equivalent).
  • An MEng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (2:1 or above, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Relevant work experience is advantageous.
  • A strong work ethic, technical proficiency, and a drive for success.
  • Basic computer skills (Word/Excel) and good report writing abilities.
  • Experience with water-related modules is a plus.
  • A willingness to pursue professional qualifications such as IET & IMechE.
  • A demonstrable interest in water-related projects.
  • The ability to meet client and business expectations while considering the broader financial and commercial implications of decisions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external clients.
  • The capability to prioritize and structure work efficiently in collaboration with the team.
  • The ability to work independently while maintaining initiative and focus.
