Position: Field Service Engineer

Company Overview:
A leading multi-disciplinary engineering firm specializing in providing on-site and workshop solutions to the utilities sector, both nationally and internationally.

Role Overview:
The primary focus of this role is to ensure the effective maintenance and inspection of assets utilized for the transportation of water and gas.


Field Service Engineers will be responsible for assisting in the extraction and reinstallation of substantial equipment at gas facilities, which may involve crane operations. Additionally, they will participate in the inspection of water pipelines, which includes working in deep excavations and utilizing various inspection tools.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support ancillary tasks such as the installation and monitoring of water flow meters, grit blasting, painting of equipment, and sampling of pipelines and soil for structural analysis.
  • Demonstrate a strong aptitude for mechanical tasks.
  • Maintain written communication in English at a level suitable for report generation, along with sufficient arithmetic skills to conduct inspections and document findings.
Training and Qualifications:

The organization will provide the essential training for the qualifications required to perform the duties of this role. However, candidates with any of the following certifications will have an advantage:

  • MPI PCN Level 2.
  • UT Inspection of Wrought Plate (ISO20807) PCN Level 2.
  • DPI PCN Level 2.
  • VS/02 visual inspection.
  • Medium Risk Confined Spaces.
  • UKATA Non-Licensed Asbestos Operative.
  • LOLER/Crane Appreciation.
  • SHEA Gas / Water.
  • Gas Industry Safe Control of Operations (SCO) Level 1 & 2.
  • National Water Hygiene Card.
