Position Overview: Combustion Service Engineer

The Combustion Service Engineer plays a crucial role in executing specialized tasks efficiently and professionally, ensuring adherence to maintenance schedules, reactive operations, and service level agreements. This position requires strict compliance with company protocols, health and safety regulations, and a commitment to surpassing expectations for both clients and BGIS.

Primary Duties:
  • Respond promptly to urgent issues related to Heating and Hot Water systems, including Gas Pipework.
  • Restore critical systems after power interruptions to guarantee safe functionality.
  • Ensure maintenance and certification of company-provided tools and specialized meters.
  • Assess time and materials for cost estimates and assist in budget management.
  • Oversee inventory of spare parts and materials for ongoing work orders.
  • Maintain accurate site logbooks and Gas Safe documentation.
  • Coordinate reactive service calls and delivery for clients.
  • Interpret and implement risk assessments and method statements.
  • Track and document operational data, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Leverage expertise in HVAC/Gas equipment for maintenance and repairs.
  • Apply engineering principles in accordance with British Standards or IGE equivalents.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve technical capabilities and energy efficiency through innovative practices.
