Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled solicitor to join our Contentious Trust & Probate team, which acts for many well-known charities in the UK. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of post-qualification experience and a strong background in contentious trust and probate law.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Contentious Trust & Probate team to deliver high-quality results and support the wider team as needed.
  • Engage in a wide range of contentious trust and probate work, including:
    • IPFD 1975 claims
    • Claims against the validity of wills
    • Construction and rectification claims
    • Court of Protection disputes
    • Executor disputes
    • Trustee disputes
    • Proprietary estoppel claims
  • Work independently and as part of a team on various cases.
  • Meet individual targets with supervision.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and build strong relationships with clients.
  • Deliver work in a commercially effective manner.
  • Delegate and cross-reference work effectively.
  • Continuously develop technical and non-technical skills to meet client and firm requirements.

Requirements

  • A strong litigation background and experience in contentious trust and probate law.
  • Analytical, conscientious, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to undertake the ACTAPS Course.
  • Participation in the firm's business development activities.
  • Proactive and able to take the initiative.
  • Ability to build relationships with people at all levels and effectively manage workload.
