Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Production Operative to join our team at Gem Partnership Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate production of customer mailings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up production lines in accordance with given timescales.
  • Load stock correctly as detailed in work instructions to facilitate automated enclosing.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure 100% accuracy against customer specifications.
  • Perform end-of-line checks as necessary, including inkjet quality, hex checks, and mail mark barcode integrity.
  • Ensure all quality checks are completed in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Pack stock correctly in accordance with work instructions and ticket requirements, flagging any discrepancies.
  • Retrieve and sort stock as detailed in work instructions.
  • Return stock to the backstock area as needed.
  • Assist in the repair and/or correction of minor machine breakdowns, such as strappers and stackers.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Systems of Work are available and up-to-date for all tasks.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping to required standards.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Understanding of customer requirements.
  • Awareness of Continuous Improvement Techniques.
  • Basic technical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Working Conditions:

This role is based in Seaham and involves working a 37.5-hour week on a 3-shift rotation. The shifts are as follows:

  • Days: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Friday, 7:00 am to 12:30 pm.
  • Lates: 3:30 pm to 12:00 am, Friday, 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
  • Nights: Sunday, 10:00 pm to 7:00 am, Monday to Thursday, 12:00 am to 7:00 am.
Rate of Pay:

The rate of pay for this role is £12.00 per hour for day shift and £12.75 per hour for 3-shift rotation.
