Job Type: Full-time

Location: Lewisham

Job Description:

We are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join our team at Career Teachers. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work alongside the class teacher to ensure each child progresses towards their goals.

You will gain experience working with children with mixed special needs, including mild to severe learning difficulties, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, sensory impairment, Autism, Challenging Behaviour, and other additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with additional needs in a secondary school setting
  • Work alongside the class teacher to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Provide behaviour support and guidance to pupils and staff
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive support system for pupils

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the requirements to support pupils with additional needs
  • Experience supporting young people with SEN would be advantageous
  • Adaptability, motivation, and ability to take initiative
