About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team at Agility, a leading building supply company. As a key member of our management team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Managing Director in strategic financial planning and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries.
  • Financial Support: Provide a support service to all departments and the management team, helping to make informed financial decisions.
  • Payroll Management: Manage the full payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Strategic Decision-Making: Inform key strategic decisions and formulate business strategies, taking into account financial implications.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial performance and contribute to medium and long-term business planning and forecasting.
  • Financial Communication: Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of financial performance.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform day-to-day administrative tasks within accounting, including sales ledger, payment of purchase invoices, and expenses.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Complete regulatory returns, VAT, HMRC, and CIS.

Requirements:

  • Commercial Awareness: Demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness and understanding of business operations.
  • Numeracy: Possess a high level of numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Professionalism: Display professionalism and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • IT Proficiency: Be proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Expertise: Possess a lively and enquiring mind, with a logical approach to work, combined with analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience:

  • Qualifications: CIMA or equivalent qualified or QBE/part-qualified with 3-5 years of experience.
  • Software Skills: Experience in Sage 50 and Construction line Accounting Software would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of CIS and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
