Position Overview:

As a Thin Film Coating Technician, you will be integral to our operations, tasked with processing products to achieve specified yield targets. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of activities including cleaning, loading, coating, and measuring. It is crucial to adhere strictly to established Quality Management System (QMS) and Health & Safety (H&S) protocols, as well as manufacturing and testing instructions, to ensure the quality of the final output. A meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to conducting interim quality assessments are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare coating chambers prior to product application and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Clean substrates according to manufacturing guidelines and ensure quality control regarding cleanliness and appearance.
  • Handle substrates carefully to maintain optimal cosmetic quality during loading and unloading, applying quality checks before and after coating.
  • Set up coating equipment accurately to apply coatings, ensuring all settings are verified through a buddy check system.
  • Configure measurement tools to validate thin film performance and produce quality graphs for clients.
  • Conduct environmental and durability tests in line with the Manufacturing Instruction Sheet (MIS) to confirm thin film quality.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in thin film manufacturing or a related engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English, Maths, and Science (Grade C+).
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Results-driven with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Flexible approach to work and shift schedules.
  • Eagerness to learn and enhance skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, along with computer literacy.
