About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Parker Smith Inclusion. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of our students with Autism/ASC, complex needs, severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and medical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to students with diverse needs, helping them achieve their academic and personal development goals.
  • Assist students with limited mobility, ensuring they can fully participate in classroom and school activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Implement personalised curriculum and behaviour management strategies that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Support students in developing their communication, social, and life skills.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, such as feeding, toileting, and medication administration, as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children and young people with Autism/ASC and complex needs, especially in educational or care settings.
  • Knowledge of and experience in supporting students with physical disabilities and mobility issues, including those who use wheelchairs.
  • Relevant qualifications in Health and Social Care, Psychology, Criminology, or Nursing are a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential.
