As a CCTV Security Operations Controller, you will engage in a structured shift pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off, alternating between day and night shifts, totaling 42 hours per week in a permanent, full-time capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commence your shift punctually, dressed in full uniform, ensuring readiness by arriving early if necessary.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, ensuring cleanliness and tidiness at all times.
  • Facilitate effective communication during shift changes with the on-duty supervisor, including the transfer of shift keys, electronic devices, and confirmation of personnel on duty.
  • Uphold Health and Safety standards, adhering to the established policies and procedures outlined in the Assignment Instructions.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of fire alarm protocols and procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable about the layout of all essential areas, including plant rooms and service corridors, particularly during major incidents.
  • Act as the primary radio contact for all staff and tenants on-site.
  • Oversee control room operations at all times, especially during incidents.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping in security logbooks, incident reports, and maintenance requests.
  • Assist tenants during incidents, whether in person or via surveillance.
  • Support law enforcement presence on-site as needed.
  • Understand your responsibilities and authority as a security team member, including when to defer to police instructions.
  • Manage and de-escalate incidents occurring within the premises.
  • Provide first aid when necessary, applicable only to certified first aiders.
  • Handle control room duties, including responding to inquiries, monitoring surveillance, and managing contractor permits.
  • Utilize the patrol monitoring system to aid in incident management and prevention.
  • Familiarize yourself with in-house radio protocols and call signs.
  • During night shifts, ensure all required check calls are conducted.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and thorough manner, complying with health and safety legislation and company policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding client and staff information.
  • Report any maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Keep your workspace organized and tools securely stored.
  • Understand and adhere to the required care standards relevant to your role.
  • Foster polite and effective communication with colleagues, tenants, and visitors.
  • Be open to additional training as required.
  • Follow all managerial directives diligently.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid SIA license in CCTV (and Security Guarding where applicable).
  • Experience in building collaborative relationships with clients.
  • IOSH training is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients and teams.
  • Organized with a proven ability to manage workflows efficiently.
  • Demonstrated understanding of high-quality service delivery and its significance.
  • Flexibility and agility to adapt to the role's demands.
  • Excellent time management skills with a focus on prioritization and attention to detail.
