Key Responsibilities

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be instrumental in managing a variety of mechanical engineering projects, particularly in the water sector, including large-scale pumping stations. Your contributions will enhance the complexity and quality of services provided.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Conducting hydraulic calculations for pumping systems and selecting appropriate pumps.
  • Designing pumping systems and pumping stations, including pipework and valve configurations.
  • Creating equipment specifications and datasheets based on process requirements and P&IDs for water and wastewater treatment systems, such as sludge treatment and chemical dosing.
  • Reviewing and providing input on P&IDs.
  • Participating in HAZOP meetings to ensure safety and compliance.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for the Principal Mechanical Engineer position will possess:

  • Chartered membership in a relevant professional institution (e.g., CEng MICE).
  • A substantial amount of postgraduate experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Specific experience in the water sector, particularly with pumping stations.
