About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager to join our team at Turner Lovell. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for the successful execution of HVDC projects, ensuring timely delivery, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver the HVDC project scope, ensuring close adherence to the global time schedule and coherency of links between engineering activities and other project functions.
  • Carry out regular and thorough reviews of project progress, assessing time, cost, quality, and risks.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive project reports, at least monthly, as part of the governance of the project.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources, working in accordance with established processes, via rigorous and open collaboration with project functions.
  • Plan and manage technical interfaces, exchange interface sheets with partners, customers, and third-party contractors.
  • Accountable for project delivery Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery and budget for HVDC scope, including suitable quality of partner documents.
  • Provide leadership and support to solution engineers, ensuring the reference solution and agreed gaps are delivered in accordance with project technical specifications.
  • Lead and direct project teams to deliver HVDC engineering scope, according to project requirements, and manage day-to-day activities.
  • Motivate and empower project engineering teams, providing insights and rewards, and feedback to functional managers during performance reviews.
  • Assess risks, including risk mitigation plans, and keep up-to-date risk registers.
  • Conduct project risk review meetings and update risk registers with mitigation plans when required.
  • Request and attend customer technical meetings as needed.
  • Check the effectiveness of design against delivery of contract requirements within project budget and look for global cost optimization in all design phases.
  • Integrate EHS requirements based on project strategy and deploy HAZID sessions at different project phases.
  • Apply design subcontracting processes and support sourcing and procurement in defining supplier lists, equipment ITO, and FAT procedure reviews.
  • Support site organization during site preparation and throughout construction and commissioning stages.
  • Organize input data acquisition for O&MM and As-built.
  • Organize engineering project teams ROE according to unit process.
  • Comply with quality procedures, work instructions, and processes defined at unit, project level, and in EMH, and report or resolve any non-conformances in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree level or equivalent education in Electrical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience, of which 2 to 4 projects in a position of Project Engineering Manager, managing medium-sized projects, across several project contexts, in EPC type environments, in T&D, Power Gen, or Oil&Gas industries.
  • Mastering of involved disciplines, tools, technical aspects, and successful experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams with multiple interfaces and products from several countries.
  • Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium periods and to travel worldwide.
  • Fluent in English and demonstrated presentation skills and ability to succinctly communicate complex messages.
  • Demonstrates ownership & accountability, judgment and decision making, influences & inspires team, relationship building skills, and strong technical problem-solving skills and experience, creates a vision and strategy, and has passion for the role.
