About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team as a commercial lead on high-stakes projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for advising on the financial feasibility of projects during the early stages, contributing to Stage 2 tenders, and managing projects in line with NEC / JCT contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising on the financial feasibility of projects during the early stages
  • Contributing to Stage 2 tenders by creating cost plans, business cases, and procuring sub-contract supply chains
  • Organizing the division of projects into component work packages for procurement, assessing returns, negotiating with sub-contractors to secure the best value, and awarding work packages accordingly
  • Managing projects in line with NEC / JCT contracts, ensuring all risks are identified and mitigated, and commercial opportunities are maximized
  • Overseeing project cash flow, monitoring, and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure through Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports
Requirements
  • Extensive experience working on large 2-stage bids within a Tier 1 contractor environment
  • Expert knowledge of NEC and JCT contract conditions
  • Proven track record as a commercial lead on high-value construction projects
  • Strong understanding of procurement and sub-contractor management
  • Proficiency in creating in-depth commercial reports
