The Opportunity:

  1. Assume ownership of the suite of Building Design Guides, reviewing and updating them periodically.
  2. Engage with domain experts to incorporate standardised engineering solutions into project conception.
  3. Review and assess proposed deviations from the design guides.
  4. Prepare estate major maintenance and lifecycle plan budgets.
  5. Advise on the condition of the estate and conduct ongoing detailed assessments of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services.
  6. Work with FM site operations managers to prioritise works based on business objectives and building conditions.
  7. Lead the transition towards a proactive approach to asset management in line with ISO55001 principles.
  8. Represent the FM Operations team as the ultimate recipient of any new installations.

What We're Looking For:

  1. Proven experience in the field of Building Services Engineering, particularly Mechanical Engineering and the design and specification of Mechanical installations.
  2. Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  3. Experience in the preparation of scope of works and performance specifications for planned maintenance and Capital works packages.
  4. Knowledge of asset management principles, such as ISO55001.
  5. Ability to efficiently implement standardised engineering solutions.
  6. Familiarity with the assessment and implementation of energy-efficient solutions.
  7. Ability to act as a Senior Authorising Person with responsibility for the Mechanical Safety Rules.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  10. CEng and Member of CIBSE would be desirable, but not critical.

Overview:

Position – Building Services Engineer – Permanent

Locations – Stevenage or Bolton (Maybe able to offer relocation package)

Salary – £60k + (21% Bonus of Annual Salary)
