Job Opportunity:

The University of Edinburgh invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of generative AI.

Research Focus:

Working with Dr. Changjian Li and Dr. Laura Sevilla-Lara, the research will focus on cutting-edge research in generative AI, exploring areas such as content creation, motion capture, and animation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with gaming, filming, and animation practitioners to understand their pain points and define research topics based on real-world challenges.
  • Conduct research in generative AI, publishing at top-tier conferences.
  • Collaborate with the CoSTAR Realtime Lab, a big interdisciplinary team across multiple universities, pushing the boundaries of generative AI for creative endeavors.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree (or nearing completion)
  • Strong background in computer graphics and vision, and research expertise in generative AI, e.g., diffusion models, and radiance fields.
  • Publications at top venues in CG, CV or/and ML.
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C++).
  • Experience with modern deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills, and excellent command of English.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, to meet deadlines and to report on project progress.

Working Environment:

The post is part of the CoSTAR Realtime Lab, a big interdisciplinary team across multiple universities, pushing the boundaries of generative AI for creative endeavors.

Salary and Benefits:

UE07: £40,247 to £47,874
