Graduate Assurance Engineer, Interconnectors

National Grid Ventures (NGV) is a leading player in the UK's energy industry, focusing on energy ventures, including Interconnectors. Our Interconnectors play a crucial role in the UK's energy infrastructure.

This role is part of our 18-month graduate programme, where you will work as an Interconnector Graduate Assurance Engineer, providing technical support to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable assets across our portfolio of Interconnectors.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining operational converter stations
  • Analyzing faults in our interconnector fleet
  • Resolving design phase problems with an engineering focus
  • Evaluating technical documentation and making recommendations

You will join a growing team at an exciting time, contributing to Net Zero challenges and new projects.

Our Graduate Programme

Our graduate programme is designed to support your growth in leadership, business, and technical skills. You will have a tailored development pathway, including in-person and virtual development sessions.

All graduates complete the core development programme, enhancing key skills such as impact making, feedback giving, and presentation skills. You will also follow our Engineering pathway to develop technical skills and safety knowledge.

What you'll need to apply

A minimum 2:2 in an engineering-related degree discipline is required. Flexibility to travel within the role is necessary.

You must have a valid full UK Driving License due to site travel requirements.

Candidates must demonstrate the legal right to work in the UK for the duration of the graduate programme. If you need visa sponsorship, please indicate this in your application.

Location

This role is based in Warwick, offering flexible hybrid working where possible.
