Job Title: Maintenance Technician – Northbourne Court, Sidcup

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Avante Care & Support. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of day-to-day maintenance, caretaking, and grounds maintenance duties within our residential care homes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all aspects of grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, care of beds, plants, weeding, edging, and maintenance of outbuildings as required.
  • Undertake maintenance repairs and remedial works as identified and within your competence.
  • Monitor and report defects in heating and lighting equipment.
  • Support management with testing of fire alarm, call alarm systems, and emergency lighting systems.
  • Undertake routine H&S monitoring, inspections, and audits in the care home in accordance with policy.
  • Complete and maintain records of TMV inspections, PAT testing, and other maintenance activities.
  • Assist with moving furniture and goods' deliveries to maintain the smooth running of the home.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in carrying out maintenance duties and day-to-day repairs, possibly in a trade capacity.
  • Awareness of and sympathy for the needs of elderly people who have varying degrees of dependency.
  • Flexibility in your approach to work and ability to work as part of a team.
