Temporary Finance Assistant (ASAP start)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team at Trial Balance Consulting. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, producing management accounts, and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the finance lead, overseeing accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting
  2. Produce management accounts for presentation to the board of trustees, including commentary and analysis
  3. Manage bank reconciliations, cashflow, and income monitoring
  4. Prepare and submit HMRC returns, including payroll operations and employee pensions
  5. Prepare annual balance sheets and statutory reports in line with Charities SORP
  6. Liaise with external auditors and stakeholders to ensure compliance and accuracy

Requirements:

We are looking for a commercially astute Finance Manager with experience in a charity accounting environment. Previous experience in the private sector will also be considered. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
