About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Analyst to join our team at Tarmac. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing commercial reporting and insight to support the growth and profitability of our Packed Products business line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial reporting and analysis to support the commercial activities of the Packed Products business, including volumes, revenue, and prices.
  • Lead on the end-to-end management of customer rebates, including system setup, accounting, reporting, payment, and liaison with key account managers and customers.
  • Support the production of the month-end reporting pack and other standardized reports, providing commentary and analysis on commercial performance to the senior team.
  • Support the finance manager with commercial forecasting and outputs, working closely with commercial managers and sales and operational planning teams.
  • Lead on customer profitability reviews and monthly balance sheet reconciliations and process controls for customer rebates in the Packed business.
  • Support the commercial team with pricing schedules updates and assist with major pricing updates and pricing of new products as required.
  • Analyze trends and performance using data querying tools (Business Warehouse) to feed into forecasts and long-term financial planning.
  • Build good working relationships with Senior Commercial Managers and Key Account Managers (KAMs) and assist with ad-hoc queries and support.
Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant or finalist ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Experienced Finance Analyst or proven financial management experience in an analytical or decision support role.
  • Ability to learn and map end-to-end financial and system processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and drive process change and improvement.
  • Well-developed communication skills with demonstrable stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • Experience with using data query/management tools (e.g., Business Warehouse, Access, SQL, Business Objects) and a financial ERP system.
Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience with managing customer rebates.
  • Previous experience within the building products industry.
  • Experience of working in a challenging matrix environment/large business plc.
  • Experience with SAP/Business Warehouse.
