We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic pharmacy team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medicines across our hospital sites.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a team of pharmacy technicians and assistants in the provision of medicines management services to wards and departments.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve medicines management practices and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Provide clinical supervision and training to pharmacy technicians and assistants to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of medicines management services.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to medicines management.
- Significant experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a hospital pharmacy setting.
- Relevant post-registration experience in a hospital pharmacy department and as a ward-based Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and managing or supervising a small team of staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and patients.
- Ability to problem-solve and think critically in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medicines management systems, including legislation and guidelines relevant to pharmacy practice.
