About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team at American Express. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development of our data platform, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy scalable and efficient data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data processes for broad-scale data access
  • Maintain data integrity by developing validation and monitoring processes for data compilations
  • Collaborate with teams to design resilient data sources for business needs
  • Incorporate data sources into user-facing features
  • Leverage cloud platforms for data engineering solutions
  • Employ technologies like PySpark and Spark for data processing
  • Develop and maintain APIs for data access and manipulation
  • Optimize data processes across data centers
  • Work with governance teams on data definition and mapping issues
  • Utilize knowledge of banking data for relevant data engineering tasks
  • Develop reports using various reporting tools
  • Coordinate and support data engineering solutions in a production environment
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in Computer Science
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and others
  • Skilled in SQL and Unix shell scripting
  • Big Data platform proficiency
  • Cloud knowledge
  • ETL and data pipeline skills
  • Basic AI/ML skills
  • Banking data knowledge
  • Genesys application and database knowledge
  • Data security and PII awareness
  • Application design with security focus
  • Application architecture knowledge
  • Debugging proficiency
  • Testing and troubleshooting
  • Docker and Kubernetes proficiency
  • SFT proficiency
