About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Sussex Housing and Care. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen facilities, providing exceptional service to our residents, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, presentation, and serving of meals within the Home as instructed by the Chef or Home Manager.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area and utensils in accordance with the schedule set by the Chef Manager.
  • Adhere to the Hazard Analysis System as devised and implemented by the Chef and Home Manager to maintain a high standard of food safety and hygiene.
  • Rotate supplies to reduce waste and ensure goods are stored correctly and in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Assist in providing additional catering services, such as meetings and lunches, as instructed by the Chef or Home Manager.
Requirements
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential, providing you are willing to undertake training for this role.
  • Ability to work 28.5 hours per week (3 days per week, 7am - 2:30pm and 5pm - 7pm).
