Apprentice Mechanical and CNC Engineer

Holtec International, a global leader in the energy industry, is seeking a skilled Mechanical and CNC Engineer to join its team in the UK. As a member of the Holtec Britain family, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for the SMR-160+ small modular reactor.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical and structural components for the SMR-160+ plant.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and analysts to create feasible and practical solutions to challenging design problems.
- Participate in the daily activities of the Mechanical Engineering team, delivering on mechanical conceptualization, requirements development, detailed development, engineering analysis, and technical documentation.
- Degree qualified in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in requirements capture, including functional, non-functional, stakeholder, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in generating design solutions through formal optioneering processes or similar.
- Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage credibly within and external to the business.
- Experience in design/fabrication of products such as heat exchangers, piping, valves, and pumps, and ASME components.
- Industry experience in using FEA simulation to support product development.
- Experience working with engineers and fabricators to develop designs and drawings.
