Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled European Road Freight Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning export groupage trailers, managing shipments, and coordinating with carriers, customs agents, and other stakeholders to optimize transport routes and costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate export groupage trailers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods to various European destinations.
  • Manage shipments from origin to destination, resolving any issues that may arise during transit.
  • Coordinate with carriers and customs agents to ensure compliance with all exportation documentation and regulations.
  • Quotations and negotiations with customers to secure the best possible rates for transportation services.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, and other relevant documents.
  • Ensure good internal communication between key departments, including customer handling, transport, and warehouse.
  • Provide completed manifests to the warehouse team.
  • Comply with all exportation documentation and regulations.
  • Resolve and manage queries and complaints in a courteous and efficient manner.
Requirements:
  • Experience in freight forwarding operations or logistics planning.
  • Ability to consolidate cargo in the UK and plan loads to maximize trailer payloads.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to negotiate favorable rates with customers.
  • Good organization and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of export customs procedures is desirable.
