About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Shift Engineer to join our team at Ethypharm. As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the machinery and equipment within our facility, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and prevent equipment failures
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and perform repairs to minimize downtime
  • Coordinate with other staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations during your shift
  • Work with Line Management to investigate equipment/plant failures and identify means to prevent recurrence
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to eliminate waste and reduce variation
  • Ensure all activities within the engineering function are undertaken to established standards and in accordance with relevant SOPs and instructions
  • Contribute to incident/deviation investigations to allow appropriate root cause analysis
  • Ensure all Risk Assessments required for your area are completed and regularly reviewed
  • Understand and apply GMP requirements in your role
Requirements
  • Educated to C&G level 2 or equivalent in electrical or mechanical disciplines
  • Electrical and mechanical skills required
  • Experience of maintenance engineering within a GMP environment
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance
  • Basic machining using lathe and milling machine
  • Welding using MIG, ARC, and gas techniques
  • IEE wiring regulations
  • Maintenance engineering within a pharmaceutical industry is desirable
  • Knowledge of Pumps, motors, and mechanical drives, electrical drives, and basic electric diagnostics
  • Knowledge of Operation of PLC based equipment

Working Hours

37.5 hours per week, Sunday - Thursday, 10pm - 6am
