Position Overview

The Goods In Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inbound logistics team, ensuring that all operational targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the shift team to achieve or surpass productivity and service key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Uphold rigorous Health, Safety, and Hygiene standards to comply with legislative and quality requirements, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and archived.
  • Facilitate effective communication briefings to keep all team members informed of company updates and encourage their input for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the Goods Inwards area to guarantee prompt and careful receipt of goods, ensuring stock availability for order fulfillment.
  • Foster the development of team members to maximize their contributions to warehouse operations and support succession planning.
  • Conduct disciplinary and grievance interviews in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor sickness absence levels in alignment with company policy and efficiently conduct return-to-work interviews.
  • Manage the time and attendance system to ensure accurate tracking of employee hours.
  • Determine appropriate levels of overtime and agency staff to ensure efficient and cost-effective shift operations.
  • Enforce adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Supervise training for team members, ensuring adequate Health & Safety representation on shifts, such as First Aiders and Fire Marshalls.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with individuals at all levels.
  • Flexible and systematic approach to work, training, and scheduling.
  • Dependable and conscientious in all responsibilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills to convey accurate information clearly.
  • Ability to perform efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Skillful in prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working collaboratively or independently as required.
  • Professional demeanor, approachable, and supportive to ensure smooth operational flow.
