Position Overview: Catering Duty Manager

YHA Grinton Lodge is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Duty Manager to oversee operations and enhance guest experiences. This role is integral to maintaining high standards in our unique hostel environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor team members across various hostel departments, promoting a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Utilize management systems for efficient guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hostel, contributing to a welcoming environment for all guests.
  • Assist in kitchen operations, serving food and beverages with a focus on hospitality and guest engagement.
  • Act as the point of contact in the absence of the Hostel/Deputy Manager, ensuring seamless daily operations.

Desired Skills and Experience:
We value flexibility and adaptability in our Duty Manager role. While prior experience in customer service is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Experience in hospitality management and delivering exceptional service is highly regarded.

Preferred qualifications include Food Safety Level 2 and APLH Level 2, though these are not essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage varying workloads and lead a team effectively.

Strong communication skills and basic IT proficiency are advantageous, while excellent time management is crucial in our dynamic setting.
