Job Overview

Mastek is set to deliver a high-profile programme for a central government department, representing the next generation of the UK's biometric capability.

This programme involves replacing and integrating with legacy systems and other government departments.

As a Java full stack developer, you will be part of a Mastek team in a multi-vendor project with a shared code base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cloud native applications using cutting-edge technologies.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Apply strong technical experience with an open-minded attitude and ability to rapidly adapt and learn.
Technical Requirements
  • Extensive server-side Java 8+ development experience with strong Spring, Spring Boot & Hibernate.
  • Strong understanding of Microservice architecture.
  • Experience building web services and APIs on REST.
  • Strong understanding of unit & integration tests, following TDD / BDD.
  • Experience using test frameworks like Junit, Mockito, PowerMockito & Wiremock.
  • Experience and understanding of CICD pipeline of Docker, Jenkins and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of all the agile ceremonies.
  • Good understanding of JSON and XML.
  • Experience in Relational Database Management System (e.g., PostgreSQL).
Nice to Have Skills
  • Knowledge of Workflow/Business Process Management tools.
  • Experience with front end technologies: HTML, JavaScript, Jquery, Mustache Templates.
  • Experience with Performance and Monitoring tools: JMeter, Kibana, Splunk, Dynatrace.
  • Experience writing Shell script.
  • Basic understanding of Python.
  • Good understanding on AWS services (EC2, ECS, EKS, API Gateway and Serverless technologies).
  • Integration Engine tools: Apache Camel and Active MQ for messaging, web services and distributed systems.
  • Public Sector domain experience preferable.
