Job Overview

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Principal Estimator to support our operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive estimating expertise within the Oil & Gas project sector.

There is an opportunity for advancement into a Senior Management position for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the estimation of comprehensive projects across various classifications, utilizing established norms and databases, including internal procedures.
  • Facilitate communication during the estimating phase among engineering, project management, procurement, and construction teams to ensure coherence and uniformity.
  • Analyze specifications and drawings, and participate in meetings to ascertain the scope of work and necessary components of the estimate.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and contribute to all facets of estimates, including detailed material take-offs (MTOs), unit rates, and methodologies using systems like ACCE.
  • Guide a team of estimators as needed, fostering the development of less experienced colleagues.
  • Maintain all documentation and data to support estimate figures.
  • Compile and deliver a professional estimate utilizing available tools and systems.
Qualifications

A degree or HNC/D in an Engineering Discipline or a related field is preferred.

Proven experience with various levels of estimates (conceptual/feasibility, Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC projects).

Ability to quantify and price all components of cost estimates and their effects on overall CAPEX/TIC.

Confidence in presenting to management, stakeholders, and clients.

Familiarity with all estimating techniques, including AACE Estimating classifications.

Knowledge of contingency and risk analysis methods, such as Monte Carlo and @Risk.
