The Role:
In the capacity of Director of Financial Operations, you will be instrumental in ensuring precise financial reporting, spearheading financial strategies, conducting valuations, and managing risks while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
Your responsibilities will encompass the development of profit and loss reconciliation, valuation oversight, and financial risk management, all while contributing to the establishment of a robust finance function within a thriving fintech organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and thorough analysis of financial reports related to trading activities, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Investigate and rectify discrepancies between trading systems and accounting records.
- Identify and manage financial risks, implementing controls to mitigate these risks effectively.
- Oversee valuation control, ensuring the accuracy of financial instrument valuations.
- Continuously assess and enhance processes, improving controls and reviewing trading systems.
- Lead and mentor a junior finance team.
- Ensure compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Conduct performance analysis to evaluate trading strategies and understand trading performance drivers.
- Manage the month-end closing process, including profit and loss reporting and inventory reconciliation.
- Supervise the finance team to ensure strong financial controls as the organization scales.
- Assist with the annual audit process and the preparation of statutory accounts.
- Engage in ad-hoc projects to support ongoing business growth.
- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, presenting financial data and insights to management.
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualified ACA Accountant.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- A strong ambition and a commitment to continuous learning.
- A genuine interest in start-ups and a passion for fintech, particularly in the crypto space.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial services or fintech.
- Background in a trading environment.
- Interest in cryptocurrency.
- Experience in system implementation and optimization.
