Job Title: Mechanic

Location: Blackwood

Salary: £26,775 per annum, with opportunities for progression to higher grades, resulting in a salary of £30,935 per annum, plus £4160 shift allowance and unlimited overtime paid at time and a half. Average earnings range from £40-£50k per year, depending on overtime worked.

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with a 3-shift pattern, 2 weeks of day shifts and 1 week of afternoon shifts, 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm. A £80 weekly shift allowance is provided, including days. One month of training is provided before commencing shifts.

About the Role

The Recruitment Co is currently recruiting Mechanics to work for a client based in Blackwood. These are full-time, permanent positions.

The client specializes in the repair and overhaul of Commercial Aircraft Thrust Reversers and Nacelles, with OEM and UKCAA/EASA approved repairs.

Main Job Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks to required standards of the Maintenance Repair Overhaul and Production of aircraft components, including compliance to regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures.
  • Safely perform company duties under deadlines, handling multiple priorities while ensuring the airworthiness of the product and accuracy of documentation and parts control.
  • Support and drive projects, as well as drive Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Be flexible to business needs and work various shift patterns as required.
  • Work as part of a team and independently.
Required Experience
  • Arithmetic and English skills, with the ability to follow written instructions with precision and having a high attention to detail.
  • Preference will be given to those with previous Aerospace background or painting, bonding, and mechanical assembly skills.
  • Proficient use of equipment, tools, machinery, and computers is preferred.
  • Previous Mechanical experience is essential.
