Main Responsibilities

The Security Officer will be responsible for delivering day-to-day security operations to provide a safe and secure environment for all students, staff, and visitors. This includes ensuring the security and safety of university buildings and equipment.

Key Duties
  • Deliver security static and patrol operations to provide a safe and secure environment
  • Point of contact for all UAL staff, students, visitors, and contractors
  • Report for roster duties on time and in full uniform
  • Carry out duties as required by the Security Team Leader and Control Room Operator
  • Conduct patrols of the campus premises both internally and externally
  • Provide customer-focused security service
  • Monitor access and egress as required to all buildings on the campus and respond to breaches
  • Ensure radio checks are undertaken within the requested period
  • Report all problems or incidents promptly to the Control Room
  • Be conversant in the Building Fire Alarm Activation Procedure and Emergency Evacuation
  • Ensure integrity of the security systems is maintained as directed by the Control Room
Requirements
  • Completed secondary education with sound knowledge of MS Office products
  • Security Industry Authority Door Supervisor Licence
  • Security Industry Authority CCTV Licence First Aid Certificate
  • Previous experience within the Security Industry is essential
  • Ability to follow policy and procedures
  • Willingness to bring concerns to corporate attention via prescribed channels
  • Flexible Working
