About the Role:

The Nigel Wright Group is seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join their team in Middlesbrough. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial guidance and support to the business, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, and driving financial processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Lead Accountant for the business area, building relationships with subsidiary managers to become the first point of contact for any financial matters.
  • Review and streamline financial procedures of subsidiary departments to improve the accuracy and timeliness of data.
  • Ensure robust internal controls are in place across subsidiary departments.
  • Prepare reports for Financial Strategy reviews with operational areas and the board.
  • Understand the financial strategy of the business and drive it from a financial perspective.
  • Support the FD/FM in ensuring that the month-end accounts are produced accurately and by relevant deadlines.
  • Produce and manage accounts by preparing relevant journals across the group.
  • Oversee the revenue analysis for assigned subsidiaries, ensuring it is accurate and reconciled.
  • Review the weekly payment run for assigned subsidiaries.
  • Monthly expenditure reviews with Managers.
  • Assist in the budget setting process, partnering with managers that fall under your remit as lead accountant.
  • Seek updated forecasts on a quarterly basis.
  • Oversee Financial integrity of the ledgers through a formal Balance Sheet reconciliation process.
  • Continually look to improve Financial Processes.
  • Assist members of the Finance team with queries and provide cover where necessary.
  • Compile and prepare management KPI's accurately, ready for distribution to managers for review.
  • Prepare short narrative of Financial performance on a monthly basis following brief reviews with managers.
  • Assist with Credit Control queries for assigned subsidiaries.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Group VAT return.
