Lead the Humanities Department at Wayman Learning Trust

We are seeking a visionary leader to head our Humanities department, driving academic excellence and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated educators, developing and implementing curriculum strategies, and promoting a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement curriculum plans that align with the school's vision and values
  • Lead and manage a team of Humanities teachers, providing coaching and mentoring to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to develop and implement whole-school initiatives
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in Humanities education

Requirements

  • Qualified teacher with a degree in Humanities and a formal teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE)
  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting, with a track record of improving student outcomes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, students, and parents
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
