Job Title: Solar Panel Installation Specialist

Latcom plc is seeking a skilled Solar Panel Installation Specialist to join our team in the Gloucester area. As an Electrician Mate/Improver, you will be responsible for installing string cables onto photovoltaic (PV) array tables, terminating DC mains cables at combiner boxes and inverter stations, and making off MC4 connectors at panels and combiner boxes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install string cables onto photovoltaic (PV) array tables.
  • Terminate DC mains cables at combiner boxes and inverter stations.
  • Make off MC4 connectors at panels and combiner boxes.
  • Terminate communication cables (RS485, CAT5, CAT6).
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of PV solar systems according to the latest edition of BS EN and other relevant standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • NVQ (preferred or on route to doing)
  • ECS card (of some grading)
  • 2-3 years' experience
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
  • Experience in commercial or industrial electrical work (solar experience is a bonus)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving license
  • Vehicle allowance + 25p per mile or Company van and fuel card
Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 7am-5pm with an hour for lunch, Friday: 7am-2pm. Overtime will be paid, and 1x3 weekend work with travel expenses + £25 per day upfront food costs may be required if staying away.
