Radiographer - Breast Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiographer to join our Breast Imaging team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mammography services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake mammography examinations of diagnostic quality in the breast imaging department, static screening unit, and mobile mammography screening unit.
- Conduct digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) examinations as required.
- Provide x-ray guidance during breast interventional procedures.
- Maintain competence in all breast x-ray examinations and interventional procedures, including biopsy and localization.
- Prepare equipment for interventional procedures and dispose of equipment safely.
- Apply dressings to patients following interventional procedures.
- Monitor the condition of X-ray equipment and report any defects or hazards.
- Adhere to all aspects of regulations relating to the Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, and other policies.
- Carry out technical quality checks and equipment fault finding.
- Undertake QA checks on equipment and take action if required.
- Keep accurate records and enter clinical information onto computer systems.
- Attend multidisciplinary meetings and departmental staff meetings.
- Participate in department audit projects, research, and development projects.
- Support and enhance the continual quality initiative programme.
- Report results at remedial or suspension level in a timely manner.
- Participate in the practical training of assistant practitioners and radiographers.
- Supervise qualified assistant practitioners and radiographic helpers.
- BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
- Certificate of Competence in mammography or equivalent.
- State registered with Health Care Professions Council.
- Full driving license or ability to obtain one.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
- Proven interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable experience as a general radiographer and mammographer.
- Proven evidence of recent CPD.
